In Greek Mythology, Pyrois is one of four immortal horses that pulled the chariot of the sun-god Helios, carrying the sun above the horizon at dawn, and across the sky during the day. The other horses’ names vary, but are sometimes given as Abraxas, Eous, Aethiops, Bronte, Sterope, Aethon, and Phlegon.
